Radiative Cooling of Carbon Cluster

Prof. Klavs Hansen

Abstract: Radiative cooling has been shown to be an important channel for energy loss for free carbon clusters and have important implications for the abundances of carbon containing molecules and clusters, both in the interstellar medium and on earth. The talk will present measurements performed at an electrostatic storage ring of the absolute cooling rates of some of these carbon clusters.
